If you had lots of money and were single, would you be careful about getting into a relationship based on this?

I know a guy (one of my clients) who is single and owns multiple businesses and makes loads of money, but he is weary of getting into a relationship because of the amount of assets and cash he has built up for himself.

Life isn't worth living without love.

I think your "client" (hopefully you do his taxes) is using his finances as a convenient excuse.

@plinkplonk Life isn't worth living without love? Life is MUCH more worth living without love. Why would you want that kind of insecurity and desperation in your life?

You seem very passionate about this issue. Why are you so jaded? I think you may be confusing love with it's demented cousin lust/greed.

@plinkplonk Love is a combination of lust and greed. It is inherently a selfish thing. Love is almost as destructive as hatred is. Whenever friends break apart, or family members quit talking to one another, whenever partnerships fail, love is almost always involved. It divides us.

Now you have love confused with ego.

Have you ever been in love?
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@plinkplonk No. And that's because I am rational. Love, as some emotions are, is irrational. Which is why people can love a person in spite of what that person does to them. Rational emotions are ones like trust or respect. They're based on another person's behavior, how they treat you, how they act, and their personality and character.

Have you ever considered a career in politics?
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@plinkplonk Yes, lol, it's funny that you ask because someone was just telling me I should keep that in mind. I follow politics often and argue it a lot.

I see you as a clear/concise debater. Maybe Law would be an area in which you could utilize your sharp mind? It often times leads to politics.

@plinkplonk I concur. I used to debate club in high school and was considered a star. The only trouble is that it's difficult to be good at arguing without seeming cringy.

There is nothing "cringy" about being a well mannered, well informed, skillfully executed debater. That's a talent many people lack.

There are a subset of individuals who are sensitive and find the act of sharing ideas to be "hostile" -- they tend to have less flexible minds. It's not you, it's them.

@plinkplonk I know, I agree. I mostly meant internet neckbeards who brag about how they "destroy" people in arguments 😂
