If you were in a committed relationship would you give your mate a key to your home?

If you weren't married and you trusted your mate, would you give them a key to your home if you stayed alone?

Sure, i couldn't be in a committed relationship if i didn't trust someone that much.

As soon as you get started with a woman, she's going through your closets and the bathroom cabinet. This is before you get serious!

There's no F'ing way she's going to let you get away with keeping her locked out.
Not only do I not do that, I've never gone through my husband's wallet or cell phone. Could be the nosy ones attract you for some reason. @HoraceGreenley

@Mamapolo2016 Women don't want me to get away!
Yes. I’m assuming I’d trust the person, or I wouldn’t be involved with him.

Honestly, I am not sure why I would give anyone a key to my home.
Even if I loved them, thing is unless they live there why else would they have access to my home?

(not trying to play devils advocate) but sometimes love blinds us and people who we love can do bad things that they wouldn't otherwise.
Let's say the relationship ended and they were scorned- they could do something bad with that key
I've seen too many I guess crime scene type shows to really give access to my home.
Not unless it was necessary. If I'm living alone I want to know who is in and out and when.
@Mamapolo2016 You do have a point. When I was involved with someone where we exchanged keys we weren’t just showing up in each other’s homes without prior notice.

If I didn't trust a woman that much I wouldn't even date her in the first place.
Similar to what someone else said I guess I’d prefer to know when someone was in my home 🤔. So it would vary, I wouldn’t mind if we dated for while but I’d prefer to be aware of when they’re there. Lol it’d be the same for me too, i’d Like to let them know when I’m at their place regardless if I had a key unless we’re sharing/living together.
And it’s not even a lack of trust I just don’t need to come home and be spooked or have an unexpected guest sometimes I just wanna go home and be alone 😂. I just think it’s polite to let someone know when you’re heading their way especially going to be in their place regardless if you’re committed or not. A simple “Hey can I come over tonight?” Would be cool and i’d Be like “sure I’m going to be home late so you can just let yourself in .” Or “I’m not feeling well tonight can we do tomorrow ?”That type of scenario would be cool with me.

Are you kidding me? He'd be living with me. He'd have a key.

No. A sexual partner, even a committed one, NEVER gets a key unless you decide you are moving in together. There are great reasons for this. If your partner decides he or she is jealous, you do NOT want them just popping in whenever. You don't want them coming in when you are not home and looking through your computer files and/or all your drawers, AND if you break up it costs a lot of money...$200 or more....to have your locks rekeyed...not to mention missing a day of work.
Geez, they are your mate, after all. How could u not give them a key?🤓

You’re not truly committed if you won’t give them a key..
