My first marriage...yes, my currant marriage...no. I was never one for texting much any way (though my wife and I did text each other on occasion...she was actually the one who got me my first cell phone).

Guess you married really youhg. I think texting has been around for almost twenty years now, right?
sometimeslonelytoo · 51-55, M
@SW-User Yes but the Jurassic was a park, not a world ;-)
SW-User
@sometimeslonelytoo Yes, but T-rex was still grumpy as he's today. Those short hands are to blame.
sometimeslonelytoo · 51-55, M
@SW-User Yup, not much he can reach for with those, without getting a back-ache ;-)

Yes, i got married before the internet was working. We used to write each other letters using that paper stuff and then with this pen thing :o

Unfortunately no. These days texting seems to be all people do in relationships.
SW-User
You are very fortunate rather. TExting people have better relationships with their phones than partners. @Virgo94

I don't see how that would be a good thing lol.
SW-User
Yep. They didn't really have cell phones when I got married. I mean, they did, but almost no-one had them for personal use and they were about the size of today's cordless phones. We wrote notes and used the regular telephone. If you were out and had a problem, there were pay phones. Lol.

Not married yet, and had my first relationship in 2006 at the age of 16-17. Texting was still a thing then, but smartphones didn't have the God status they do now.
Starbursteffect · 51-55, F
Yes. We used to write love notes (and sometimes hate notes) to each other LoL
SW-User
@Starbursteffect very cute.
Dusty101 · F
No... but I never had a cell/mobile phone until 2008.
SW-User
@Dusty101 and you were a traveling soul! How did you do it?
Dusty101 · F
@SW-User when I settled back in Ireland I wanted to go off to Australia... but I went to a fancy dress one evening and met him there.
I was sticking to my plan until he asked me not to go. I thought long and hard about it... and remained in Ireland. We travelled all over together. And our little daughter comes everywhere with us.
How old were you? You've been married forever.
SW-User
@DarlingSelah married in 2001.
SW-User
No ,we had nokia and BBerry that days

Before cell phones were a thing.
SW-User
No.
I do remember dating when I'd get a text and it'd only tell me a number, not the sender's name, so I'd be scrabbling around, comparing numbers to names, to work out who it was from. 😂

I was born before mobile phones (cell phones) were invented and was married a good 30 years before mobile phones were invented.
SW-User
Just wait until proposing to someone by text becomes a thing.
