Is to weird to want to be friends with my ex and her boyfriend?

My ex broke up with me because she fell in love with her current boyfriend, though she still likes me as a friend and her boyfriend thinks I'm cool. I'd like to be friends with them and leave the past behind.

Yes. I am friends with my most of my ex bfs. And a few are friends with my husband. I mean, if you were dating, they probably are nice peeps. I don't understand how people can be so cold to those they once liked/loved.
