@Humanist321 All christian religions started with the Catholic Church starting with Martin Luther.

@TheProphet You obviously have no clue, do you?! Look up Christian Church History. Do you have any idea how Martin Luther fits into this picture, lol?
TheProphet · M
@Humanist321 Actually I do.

Yes, the issue is papal supremacy over church matters and the power that holds from the throne of St. Peter's. The Archbishop of Canterbury does not have that same theological construct as the Anglicans split from Catholicism as did Luthetans, Presbyterians, etc.

@toddr13 The times are changing, although I'm not convinced that replacing the old denominations with the new benefits many.
toddr13 · 46-50, M
@RemovedUsername8862 No, because there's also a cultural and historical loss, as opposed to adapting to a more modern approach, while still holding true to fundamentals of the respective faith. The new denomination is attractive to many who are tired of the old ways.
RemovedUsername8862 · 26-30, M
@toddr13 Indeed. Although, I will admit that I'm personally biased against both Evangelical and Mormon theology, so there's that.

...I'm sorry, but why would you think that Catholics aren't Christians? Also, what kind of Christian are you? Protestant, Miaphystite, Nestorian, Orthodox? If you go to a church that isn't "independent", and likely even if you do if the minister received a doctorate of divinity anywhere, you belong to some faction in one of those general denominations.

All Christians are not Catholic, but all Catholics are Christians. Catholicism is one of the denominations of Christianity.
Jentlemen · 51-55, M
@bijouxbroussard yes, they are

We had this question last week. I suspect a repeat offender.
Amylynne · 26-30, F
all Catholics self identify as Christians,
not all Christians say they are catholic
SOME Christians say tht Catholics aren't christian
and many Catholics thru most of history say ONLY Catholics are Christians that has recently changed
many Christians say they are the only ones that are as Catholics, and many others of old.

More or less yes, the same.
Humanist321 · M
Catholics are Christians but not all Christians are Catholics. In other words Christians includes Catholics, Protestants (traditional) and Evangelicals.
RemovedUsername8862 · 26-30, M
@Humanist321 And Miaphystite, Nestorian, Gnostic, Orthodox, and a bunch of other branches too! It's amazing how many variations on the common theme there are.

They aren't the same in terms of how things are done(I was raised catholic partly, then christian), but I believe it should be okay since you both believe in God.
