Is it ok to date a Catholic if you are a Christian? Are they both the same thing?

@TheProphet That is a serious misreading of history of Christianity, but maybe some misinformed (Catholic) religion teachers gave you that distortion of actual history. Catholicism as known today had its origins in the split of the church between Rome and Constantinople.
