Why did I have to buy a steel pipe ?

Why is only steel used for some drainage pipes but not plastic ?

I wanted plastic they said it wasn't durable or something about erosion.

In the build process I have been doing when I say plastic they say metal and verse verse. I do not get it either.

@WoWgirll And the septic system I put in was all plastic even the dang septic tanks. Damned if you do or do not, I guess and it comes down to following the health departments demands.

I have concrete pipe used for culverts, but I have to replace mine. Mine are very old and falling apart
