Do you or can you 'let go' of your ex(s) or do you forever feel you are in love and/or somehow connected to them?

I don't have any connection to mine other than 3 kids (now adult) with my first and my 8 y/o daughter with my second.

Love? no. Feel connected? No. Want to get back with them? No. Better off alone? Yes.

My husband, every day but I suppose that's very different. We would still be married if he hadn't died.

@PatientlyWaiting25 Your situation is a very sad one. I've not experienced anything like it so my heart is with you in your endeavour to soldier on with life.

I used to feel like that, but now I'm in a happy relationship I don't think about them much at all.

I have no exes, and all of my wife's exes are ex-fwb's from college. She hears from some of them occasionally and both of us talked to one on the phone yesterday.

I rarely think about them. Maybe a song or a place will trigger a memory but I don't often think of them.

Negative.. no connection, no regrets. Sometimes things do randomly remind me of past relationships. A song or music video, a smell or food. I value the memories but never dwell on them. And those whove come and gone, I wish them well, even if they were shitty sometimes. I try not to miss possible opportunities because im too busy focused on a past chapter.
