Have you ever ditched a date while on it?

meggie · F
Yes. He invited me to dinner to a tapas bar. On arrival he said he hadn't eaten there before, but heard it was good. When the waiter handed us a drinks menu each, he reached over the table and took it off me and said he heard the house wine was good. The wine tasted very cheap and vinegary. Then when the food menu arrived he glanced at it, pulled a face and said he wasn't hungry so to order something and he'd eat off the side of my plate. I got up and told him to enjoyhis good house wine and left.
Yes, not really proud of it, but he gave me a really uneasy feeling. I told him I was using the restroom. Instead used the payphone to call my sister and told her to meet me down the road from place we were at and then I slipped out

@Bexsy
Pay phone
It must have been a while back
@Ferric67 lol, yes. In my 20s.

I'm nowhere near my 20s now
Ferric67 · M
@Bexsy but, just as hot 😉
RodneyTrotter1 · 100+, M
Yes and I had good reason. I texted a friend and asked him to ring me in a few minutes, quickly changed his name to 'dad' and left the phone where she'd see it, she said 'you'd better get that'.and after a brief pretend chat I told her sorry but I had to go and that was that, bought my mate a pint later for digging me out of a hole.

No .. that's too rude unless they did something to prompt it. I'm a big guy though and have never been at risk on a date.
Baremine · 70-79, C
Yes. I had a girl from another school bugging me for 6 months to take her out took her to a band picnic at my highschool. She wasn't being a real good date and I let her go home with a friend of mine. Never saw her again. Frankly I didn't care. She wasn't much.
QCDog2659 · 61-69, M
No.

Our date ended quickly (after 15 minutes) by mutual consent.

She was very abusive to our waitress.
H1raeth · 36-40, M
Yes but not because of her. I gambled on a fart a few days after getting over stomach flu. Disaster. We were walking down the street and I tried to say I was sorry and that I needed to attend to a family matter. It was dripping onto my shoe at this point. I just turned and ran away. I managed to find a public toilet and sat in there crying and sharting loudly and uncontrollably.
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
Yup. Got in my car and drove away. He followed me but I lost him.
Ferric67 · M
@ScreamingFox I'm about to get my fill with people

You wanna know what really irked me today
It's stupid, because I don't really care for gifts...but this wasn't really a gift
I got my Christmas bonus at work....it was an online coupon to shop for workplace merchandise
Now, I told my boss I'm not going to pay for clothes that I do not want to wear
I might wear it if given to me...maybe, but not really
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@Ferric67 that's so generous of them 🙄 that's not a bonus that's an insult
Ferric67 · M
@ScreamingFox yup
You know what I did in front of her?
I announced to my coworkers that I will sell them the coupon for half the price
ronisme1 · 61-69, M
We mutually agreed to end the date after 15 minutes of chat
Cigarguy · 41-45, M
No but I've had dates leave me in the middle of a date more than once
exexec · 70-79, C
Not me, but my wife did a couple of times in college.
HowtoDestroyAngels · 46-50, M
No, I couldn't do that to someone else.
ArtieKat · M
I think I probably have - but it would have been a couple of lifetimes ago. Best forgotten
Kiesel · 56-60, M
Yes I have
Ages ago
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
Yes, at a nightclub. I got a cab and left because the dude was giving me the creeps
Adogslife · 61-69, M
Honestly, no. I couldn’t do that to someone. I think it’s easier for men. There’s not much at risk.
I have always been too old for dates so never really had the chance to walk away from it
