He missed my point entirely

I explained that if a guy claims he wants to be my partner, I expect him to add positive things to my life. Not just money- he needs to provide love, affection, friendship, be someone I can depend on, show me support, communicate with me, be funny with me, make me feel safe.

If a guy doesn't do any of that, and I am continuing to live my life alone and struggling like I have since day one, please explain to me why I would I need him at all? Hell, I can live that way by myself without the added weight of a guy who offers nothing. 🤷🏻‍♀

He said, "Now you're starting to sound like a real Arizonian!"

He either understands (and doesn't care) that I'm directing my statement at him, or it completely went over his head. Neither would surprise me. 🤦🏻‍♀

It sounds like he's avoidant and that was a way to dodge your concerns

And girl, you are so en point.

I have spent a lot of my life putting my worth in how my partner feels about me

It's not like it has been easy, but I feel a lot more peaceful when I am single. And I'm glad you're working toward that for yourself.

Because damnit, you deserve it.

The important thing is does he take out the trash and do the dishes and not hog the blankets?

How did you two meet and why did you decide to move in together?
