I’m not sure exactly what it is. I think he loves me on some level or other and seems to be trying to get better at interacting with me, but there’s so little eye contact. He doesn’t look at me when he speaks to me. No holding. Very little contact. No sense of intimacy. Like he merely loves what he settled for or is just committed to doing his best for what he doesn’t really want. I know I’m safe and cared for, but at the same time I feel hideous and inadequate and self-conscious. I would like to feel more acceptable.
