It means run, and he will constantly tell you how you ain't this you ain't that until your self-esteem drops to the floor. This is the first sign, and even if it does seem harmless, he won't stop criticising you.

I dated a guy who would constantly call me weak for being emotional and tell me how I should change, etc. He would also put me down about other stuff if you just did this. You get the gist; he wasn't all bad, and I adored him, but he clearly had his own personal issues he wasn't willing to accept. No matter how many times I tried with him, he'd push me away.
