Am I just overthinking…..

What is your definition of a successful relationship?
Castenmas · M
Two people who are happy doing their own thing together.
JustAsking · 46-50, F
@Castenmas If this is the best answer to my question, OMG, I am overthinking.😄
Castenmas · M
@JustAsking It’s not as complicated as people would like to tell you.

SW-User
Feeling loved, secure, having trust and enjoying each others company. Being able to weather a storm and not just enjoy the sunny days
JustAsking · 46-50, F
@SW-User what do you mean by feeling secured?
SW-User
@JustAsking feeling safe, feeling like I can be myself completely and be accepted and that they have my back
JustAsking · 46-50, F
@SW-User got it…❤️
Busybee333 · 31-35, F
Trust, mutual respect, warmth, mutual will to grow together.
JustAsking · 46-50, F
@Busybee333 mutual will to grow together in what specific?
Busybee333 · 31-35, F
@JustAsking In life. In every area. Some days growth feels nice, you see results from previous efforts or experience something positive. Other days, growth is painful, when you go through hardships and learn life's lessons. Wanting to grow and improve constantly, as a mindset, and being ready to take it all on, together, will set the ground for a relationship that deepens and evolves stronger with time. It has to have this drive to be in motion. Each person has their own character. Walking the path alone is challenging enough.. walking it together, can be easier or harder, depending on the situation... You are whole and complete on your own, (contrary to popular belief, you don't need someone to "complete" you). However, on the long run, if life gave you a choice, and you decided to build a strong relationship, it would be more fulfilling to be with someone that makes you feel that you are certainly fitted for each other, just like corresponding pieces of a puzzle. I don’t think it’s one size fits all, but I think if each is happier in their heart to see the other come home than to see them leave more often than not, they’ve found a measure of success there.
JustAsking · 46-50, F
@JustNik 👍🏼❤️❤️❤️
When you inspiring each other to be their best self without controlling, limiting, owning them. A good relationship inspires you to grow individually and together.

A successful relationship doesn't mean both people are happy all the time. That's a lie. It means both people will stay faithful to each other even if it's hard.
JustAsking · 46-50, F
@SinlessOnslaught but what do you mean with “even if it’s hard”?
SinlessOnslaught · 26-30, M
@JustAsking When you have to make a sacrifice for the relationship like time or money.
tj78610 · 51-55, M
Probably way too easy to overthink - the basic question is, are you both happy most of the time?

The how you achieve it is the tricky part.
JustAsking · 46-50, F
@tj78610 what makes you happy in a relationship then?
tj78610 · 51-55, M
@JustAsking i think its a lot of things that boil down to 2 basic elements - genuine care for the other person, often/usually putting the other person's needs above your own (and vice versa), and then just trying to make each other happy.

When a partner cares for me and tries to make me happy, then I will be happy. And it leaks into all phases of life too.

Like I need positive feedback and caring touch. If a woman genuinely attempts those 2 things, Im golden.

Then I need to reciprocate her needs.
PhilDeep · 51-55, M
I wouldn't really think of a relationship as "successful" because to me that has a connotation of evaluation with respect to a given outcome. An effective relationship would perhaps be one in which both partners are competent , independent adults who happen to be compatible in relating closely, and do so with commitment.

Overcoming musical differences. When I first met my wife she was a country and western fan and I was a rocker but we learned to deal with it. Cheers and happy weekend!
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@Nanoose Omg, Donnie and Marie.
Nanoose · 61-69, M
@Fukfacewillie Yea that was one of our jokes - Your a little bit country and I'm a little bit rock and roll. Cheers and happy weekend

BigBulge · 41-45, M
She does oral. She does anal. She puts out for all of my friends whenever I command.
JustAsking · 46-50, F
@BigBulge I hope you’re in a successful one.😁
BigBulge · 41-45, M
@JustAsking Yes, our relationship is very successful. Saturday night I had 3 male friends over for some PNP. They gave her a real workout.
eMortal · M
Like Dave Chapelle said, when she blows me and make me a sandwich!!! Joke 😂😂
Simpleboy1 · 31-35, M
For me...she must know that I am very very sexual and I have deep desires
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
A question only a woman would ask.
JustAsking · 46-50, F
@hippyjoe1955 I know right?!😝
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
A successful relationship is one you like being in.
JustAsking · 46-50, F
@Fukfacewillie 👍🏼❤️
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@JustAsking Yeah, I don’t really buy the “relationships require hard work” stuff. I think that’s a rationalization for people who are unhappy in theirs.
JustAsking · 46-50, F
@Fukfacewillie I agree.
Being comfortable in each others but not be afraid to speak
JustAsking · 46-50, F
@V00doo That’s it?
Jexie · 26-30, F
