Who’s against interracial relationships?

I don’t understand why people are against it and brutally blunt about it. What is the problem?

I'm white, my first real girlfriend was black. We met online, it was long distance. Because of my name she assumed I was black also. I don't know that I consciously made an assumption, but when we discovered each other's skin tones I was not surprised though she was mildly amused at her wrong assumptions. We met and bonded without knowing skin tone and after we knew it wasn't an issue.

I did have dreams about having to defend her and my choices against racist people, but even in those dreams it was only ever love for her and disappointment in those who would judge.

When we met in person it was amazing. I knew others might side eye but between her and me we didn't pay it any mind.

She joined the army and time, distance and the military itself drove us apart but whenever I think of her I still feel love for her even today.

She was beautiful and amazing and if I had listened to the old people who were against race mixing I would have missed out on some of my fondest memories.

Don't let those haters get you down.
