Infatuation is quick... Love develops with time. You can chose with who you want to be but some connections and attractions take place out of your control.
@SW-User it's called oedipus complex 😬 that means when girls develop feelings for their dads and boys for their moms.. I've heard that if you grow in a healthy family where parents love each other you won't go through this. I believe we are too emotional and never really ready to leave home so we start tricking our minds and replacing our parents.A healthy relationship whether between parents or lover is based on communication, honesty, open mind... It has nothing to do with our parents 💔 It takes too much time to realize many things

I doubt much. When we like a person and they also make us feel loved and interesting, we tend to navigate toward each them or each other. I guess it's still a choice but we like them partly because they also like us and we like being liked. I'm sure a lot of things come into play here. @SW-User

I've really only fallen in love three times. First time took a year. Second time was virtually instantaneous. Last time took 14 years. None of them were exactly my idea. They just happened.
Loving someone is different than falling in love. To me, loving them is a daily commitment to supporting them in becoming the very best them that they can possibly be. That takes time.
True love takes time and effort; it's not instantaneous. Real love is so much more than words and feelings; it needs to be demonstrated to fully be actualized.
