The worst part about working at the library is I now have an atrocious amount of books I want to read

That’s the dream job! I’d never leave 🤣
I'd love to work in a library
bruh, that seems like such a fun job

@HijabaDabbaDoo it’s been so fun. Sometimes you run into difficult situations to handle because of different factors like mental health, etc but I love it. Definitely very fulfilling

Better than meth 🤷‍♂
I don't see a downside to working at the library. That has always been one of my dream jobs. I've only ever volunteered there

@DancingStarGoddess It’s so fun and rewarding. I love it

Try "Auto Da Fe" by Elias Canetti, about a man obsessed with owning books. I think he won the Nobel prize for it in the 1930s
Yulianna · 26-30, F
@ArtieKat or Borges's Library of Babel...
JRVanguard · 26-30, M
My mom has a book called “How to Read a Book”
Start there
@JRVanguard I love that it's the Large print version and everything 😂
JRVanguard · 26-30, M
@DancingStarGoddess They gotta make sure you’re really getting it

I always wondered what that would feel like!
That would be me as I’m am in book stores…

That's a good thing, and gives you something positive and uplifting to aim for. I collect vintage books and am an avid reader though I realise that there isn't enough time in the world to read everything that one wants to. Remember it's not a competition or a chore: it's something you want to do in your own time, with no pressure attached..🔰🔰🔰

Does it make you sad that you can't read all the book you want in this lifetime
brainrapist · 31-35, F
@Selah yes 😔

An embarrassment of riches!

One good book will always inevitably be leading to a cluster of others, especially in non-fiction, but with fiction too when there's notes and Introductions. Wishing you a fruitful reading journey .....:)
