Hello SW! What books are you reading????

What books do you like to read?

I just finished reading The City Baker's Guide To Country Living which I thought I didn't want to finish, returned to the library, kept thinking about the story and characters and had to run back and finish it! Tonight I just finished reading Snow & Rose which is based on a little-known fairy tale called Snow White and Rose Red. Next, I'm going to read Wildwood by Colin Meloy. I think it is the first in a series. It's supposed to be like the Narnia books.

I’ve been on a Neil Gaiman kick but I threw in some Joe Ambercrombie.

Neil’s books are magical. Joe’s first few books were interesting and then he went full “Game of Thrones”. Not a fan anymore.

I highly recommend Paolo Bacigalupi.

Re-reading "Oliver Twist" by Charles Dickens. After seeing so many different film versions, I like to go back to the source every so often.
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
@Fluffybull That’s such a good read. Read it out loud to my kid a few years ago. Though when I did that I had forgotten how Charlie Bates is frequently referred to as “Master Bates”. I did a little editing in my read aloud version. 😆

@Harmonium1923 Really well written and structured, but I'm not sure the plot is going to move along greatly.
@Harmonium1923 it was an amazing journey, beautifully written but...

The Ballad of Halo Jones.

I treated myself to the painted edition of it.

And it's worth the price.

Written by Alan Moore.

It is superb.
