A mix of natural history and folklore of Ireland.

I was twelve when my family moved to Ireland and I became fascinated with the myths and legends surrounding it. Leprechauns, banshee, kelpie, you name it. As I've got older I became more interested in nature's side of things but with a little bit of the myth and legend thrown in. So I've started to read these four books by Niall Mac Coitir. Fascinating discovery of ancient knowledge and beautifully illustrated books. Sit under an old tree for some summer indulgence.
Glass of wine optional.

Folk medicine led to pharmacotherapy. Modern medicine evolved from those humble beginnings.

@samueltyler2 I'm all for medicinal herbs, nature certainly has it's own way of healing.

@Sunstone you just need to be careful, particularly when dealing we with mushrooms, because there are some deadly poisonous nous ones which look identical to good tasting ones. There is an old toxicology statement:

There are old mushroom pickers
There are bold mushroom pickers
There are no old, bold, mushroom pickers.

@samueltyler2 Oh, I think I'd better buy my own mushrooms than try picking them! I have a nice herb garden coming along, I enjoy using them in cooking, in teas, ect.

Have you seen Culppers Compendium?
Sunstone · 41-45, F
@Convivial No, I've never heard of it before.
