I'm quite big into space opera. I used to be more into fantasy, but not as much anymore. I love horror. Mystery is good, but it's been a while since I dipped my toes.
I finally finished reading the last book of The Sun Eater series last night, Shadows Upon Time. I really liked the earlier books, but man, this last one was a slog, probably at least twice as long as it needed to be.
Loved the Hyperion Cantos.
I enjoyed the Wheel of Time books a lot, but Jordan just started dragging things out so much. "Oh, waited 3 years for a book and nothing happens in it but setting things up for the next book." Ultimately, although Sanderson's concluding books were pretty OK, the conclusion was disappointing.
I was a huge fan of Martin's Wild Cards series. I've been slowly working on finishing the more recent modern volumes in the series.
Steinbeck, Arthur Miller, Anais Nin, Hemingway, mostly anything erotic, anything classic but smutty.. The Bible, The Book of Enoch, The Book of Jubilees. Anything with a cover and pages with words to read but lately haven't had much time to enjoy what i love between the pages....
But you know what I read there are many more we have spent hours texting about our literary preferences.....
These are my recent reads and they have all been 4+ star. Currently reading The Echo of Old books and Circe. So as far as genre historical fiction probably.
I like philosophy and biographies. Used to read a lot of fiction but less into them now, tho still would read them if I find a good one. Mystery and horror can be pretty captivating. Maybe a little sci-fi and astrophysics related stuff. Anything that opens my mind and takes me to a different place. Oh and I also like classics
@SleepingWithGhosts I've never been one to read from him. His books always look like a daunting task; they're so BIG, but perhaps I should be checking up on it's contents because I could definitely see myself reading this one.
@moonlightlullaby no I’m not but I love the stories the foster carers write about the children who have been in their care. Authors such as Tori Hayden, Cathy Glass just to name a couple
@soulrespite I don't either. It used to be a love of mine, but I just can't focus anymore. Makes me a little sad & I thought this post could possibly stir something, but nope. 😐
