Why do we need a whiteboard function on here?

There are gifts and attributes too and more. Do you use these functions? I admit I have used the whiteboard only to ask friends if they are ok after not hearing from them, but no one has used these back really.

I find gifts sometimes limiting in expression. And if you are down to 1000 coins, you can give meaningful words to someone directly. The better question would be, why is it this way? It's all virtual anyway.
