Just a romance
Alt-J being one of my favorite bands led me to this song and the story of Gerda Taro and Robert Capa
[media=https://youtu.be/S3fTw_D3l10]
Gerda Taro and Robert Capa were war photographers and romantic partners who covered the Spanish Civil War. After surviving a plane crash together while traveling for their work, they felt that as long as they stayed together nothing could harm them. Their motivation was to show the real horrors of war through photography and reveal the truth to the world. They believed being close to the fighting would help people understand the suffering caused by war.
They never married, but they worked closely and shared the same mission. Tragically, they later died separately while covering wars. Gerda Taro died in 1937 after being accidentally crushed by a tank during a battle retreat in Spain, and Robert Capa died in 1954 after stepping on a landmine while photographing the First Indochina War in Vietnam. Their story is often remembered as a powerful example of courage and dedication to journalism.
Because of their ideals and courage learning photography is something I am very motivated to do.
