I'm not American, but I think that is detracting from the people who lost thier lives in a senseless attack. Patriot Day sounds like the tragedy is being politicized to me.

@JimboSaturn Yes, exactly.

What I can't believe is that people are still talking about it 😩

@DunningKruger ONLY 25 years ago?! 😩 You're like that annoying friend who, admittedly, had a traumatic experience, and everyone was like "that is so terrible, we're so sorry you went through that" but as time goes by, people around them grow up, they go through rough things too, some people go through the same thing, and frankly many people went through much worse, but they continue on with their lives, and meanwhile this friend is still talking about the same trauma 25 years later, and at this point people are like "I heard this story before, yes yes very tragic, very sad, now stfu". 😆

@DunningKruger Literally no one else are talking about some terror attack that happened 25 years ago, only America. You people have absolutely no sense of reality, and this topic is soooo annoying, like a bad pop song they just want stop playing in every shop you ever go to. 😆

@Nightwings You're not wrong.

One thing I don't like is that there already is a "Patriot's Day", celebrated as a holiday in Massachusetts, commemorating the Battle of Lexington and Concord which is regarded as the beginning of the American Revolution. The Boston Marathon used to be called the Patriot's Day Marathon.
I think most people will simply use the expression 9/11 to refer to the anniversary of the WTC destruction. I have never actually encountered the phrase "Patriot Day" in a conversation with anyone. It seems to be an attempt to force a usage on us, but I don't think it is working.

Anything "patriotic" makes me sick because it's become synonymous with MAGA, bigotry, unfettered Capitalism, and willful ignorance.
