I don't give no two fkks about your tradition.

Recently at a festival in Nigeria a large gang of men were seen on video grabbing women and assaulting them. I first saw the video of it on instagram.

The leader's excuses for it are appalling:

According to the community leader, young unmarried women are not supposed to come out at a certain time during the festival.

Asked why young girls were forbidden to come out, Berkeley said, “It’s an old tradition in Isoko land. In the olden days, young girls who are not married are not supposed to get pregnant; that means the family is going to be mocked. So, you don’t offer prayers to girls that are not married, but for women that are married, you can offer prayers for them to get pregnant.

This is why men around the world do this is because of leaders who say this stuff. He attempts to low key victim blame the women saying that unmarried women shouldn't be out at a certain time because the festival isn't meant for them but to say prayers to married women.

This is all what tells me why these men did this. If you raise men in a culture that has views like this, they are being raised with entitlement so they believe they are okay to do this. And they're right, in a lot of cases the men might be arrested but they'll be let out. Arresting these people is more about damage control to international outrage than because they'll be held liable.

You only get these views that are pervasive from an overall culture that teaches people to do this.

This is a organized religious issue though. Organized Religion attempts to control the society it's in.

You can even see this within the various sects of islam. How it controls varies from sect to sect.

In the USA it's currently white Christian supremacists overtly attempting the control.

Yet covert organized religious control always happens. Organized Religion simply must attempt to control no matter the methods.

This religious issue must be addressed in the constitution, even on the state and local levels. Not just on the congressional level.

Please note this president is using this fact on the executive branch. It doesn't apply to the president, nor even the supreme Court, nor to individual states.

Only "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion".
