Driving with the wife back from a doctor's appointment
We're going along at the speed limit for the road. There's a fair amount of traffic. A guy driving a white sedan rolls up and rides my ass. He'd have to back off a bit for it to be just tailgating. I mean, dude. At least buy me a drink first.
Finally, traffic opens up enough for him to roar around me, just in time for him to sit at the stop light 5 seconds longer than he would have if he'd just stayed behind me. When the light changes, he's off, weaving in and out of spaces between cars that were clearly not intended to include another vehicle.
We get to another light, and the white car has made it far enough ahead that he gets through the light, and we're stuck until the next one. Fine. Good riddance. Except..., except....
The light turns green. The couple vehicles in front of us head through the intersection, and just then, some guy in a blue sedan roars by in the turn lane to the left and jumps in front of the car at the head of the line. He barely avoided smashing into the island separating the lanes ahead.
We look at the traffic ahead of us, and there's the white car and the blue car weaving in and out of traffic, cutting each other off, jumping back and forth. And the traffic here wasn't light —we were almost downtown by this time.
We lost track of them. Didn't see any wrecks along the way. So, back to heading home.
Then the fifth-wheel truck to the right of us decided that he didn't have enough lane, and needed half of the lane we were occupying. Whoa, dude. Sped up to get clear.
Then, a car pulling into the road we're on decided that he needed half our lane to make that big right turn. Fortunately, there was a turn lane there I could jump into.
You know, I know this is perfectly normal. I'm sure people who drive in this sort of traffic more than I do are used to it. Even so, what the fuck, people? What the actual fuck.
