This is kind of weird
The other day, while I was backing out of my parking spot in the parking garage at work, the car directly behind me and I bumped into each other. Nothing to speak of, happens all the time. A bump.
The driver of the other car is a young woman. Her car is a bit older, like mine, and was hardly in pristine shape. Looking at her bumper, I couldn't tell which scuff was caused in this bump and which was preexisting. And there was nothing on my car at all.
Never the less, we exchanged insurance. I showed her my insurance card and she took a photo. She didn't have a card, but had something on her phone's screen. I tried to take a photo of it, but later realized it's illegible.
No, I didn't take a photo of her car and license plate, or even ask her name. Yes, I probably should have, but come on —it was a bump. I've hit cars harder walking into them.
Now, today, I get a call from my insurance company. Apparently, the girl's insurance company filed a claim against my insurance company, and they have to do an investigation.
I cannot believe that anyone would even bother to contact their insurance company about this sort of thing. Hell, I've had people bump me like this and not even stop, and it was no big deal.
Oh, well. So it goes.
