America at 250

Back in the 1970s, the bicentennial of the United States was a big deal. Starting as early as 1974, there were so many things going on tied to the upcoming birthday. It was impossible to avoid for years.

Now that we're closing in on the 250th anniversary, it seems like not only do people not care, but that a lot of people don't even realize that it's only 6 months away.

Says something about where our nation has gone, I think.
