Do you have a "war mode" at work you slip into?

So when it's really busy and people are being rude I shift into what I call war mode. I try to look as unopen and unapproachable as possible, I hone in and get straight to business. Don't talk to me let me work. I'm just very militant I guess.

wow, i'm not knocking you, but i think that's a sad existence, i guess you're from the states? if so then i understand, from what i see online it's not a country i'd ever want to live, so glad and grateful i'm where i am from, still hope you had a decent xmas and goodluck to you.

My walls are probably higher than most people's, because I got a harsh lesson in just how vindictive some workplaces can be and now I don't let anyone in.

@HootyTheNightOwl I got burned when I was a lot younger with workplace antics. High walls is the way to go.

@Crimsondrops Makes me laugh when I read posts here about workplace relationships - and I liken them to "shitting in your own larder".

My ex fiance was forced out of a volunteer role in a charity shop - because he got into a relationship with me AFTER I left that place... so they can't say that we were making out and not working when we should have been doing our jobs.

I saw straight through it the first week I was there and I quit before the week was out (he got sick and had to stay home to recover - which was when the manager really ramped up on me... to the point where a delivery driver told her to "Stop it", and she chose to ignore him) to try to spare him the atmosphere of being bullied over some "crush" the manager was predicting I had on him. I only knew him professionally at the time - and I stated then that I had no intention of getting in a relationship with anyone from that place while I was working there. I was there to do my job, get my qualification and get out of Dodge.
