A little something for the Doctor Who fans
OK. I just had this random thought concerning what's going to happen next on Doctor Who. Following are spoilers for the last season, in case you haven't seen it.

OK. Much was made of the ending of Disney+ season 2, when Doctor 15 regenerated into Billie Piper, especially in light of the fact that the credits for the episode were Ncuti Gatwa as The Doctor and Jodie Whittaker as The Doctor, but then the credits read, "Introducing Billie Piper." Not Billie Piper as The Doctor, just Billie Piper, which suggests that Billie will not be playing Doctor 16.
Here's an idea. As you may recall, at the end of reboot season 2, Rose Tyler left Doctor 10 in the company of the Meta-Crisis Doctor for the parallel universe Pete's World. So, what if this Rose Tyler who regenerated from Doctor 15 was, in fact, not the Doctor, but was rather actually Rose Tyler from Pete's World? Here's the idea.
Something happens on Pete's World, some crisis that really needs the Doctor to swoop in to save the day. However, there is no Doctor on Pete's World. The Meta-Crisis Doctor is a human-Time Lord hybrid without most of the Doctor's abilities. However, he does have some trickle of the Doctor's regeneration energy.
What happens is that Rose and MC Doctor use that energy in a way that allows her to travel back to her original universe in order to get help from The Doctor. However, perhaps unexpectedly, what she ended up doing was hijacking The Doctor's regeneration. This will be a problem to be solved in the next season or special or whatever — Rose came back to get The Doctor, but the act of travelling back made The Doctor unavailable.
There is, however, a work around. Because of bi-generation, Doctor 14 is still around.
It's unknown what powers Doctor 14 still has. The show's producers have said that Doctor 14 had no regenerations, and would age and die as per normal for a Gallifreyan. So, there's an opportunity for drama there, too. Rose has to recruit Doctor 14 to help her solve the crisis that she needs The Doctor to help solve, but Doctor 14 doesn't have the right stuff to do that, so they have to work together (and hopefully Donna Noble is nowhere to be seen).
In the end, they solve the crisis, and Rose gets to go back to Pete's World, allowing the Doctor's regeneration to continue on into Doctor 16. Maybe that involves merging with Doctor 14, or maybe he is cursed to go back to his semi-retirement hanging with Donna Noble (what did he do to deserve that horrible fate?). Whatever.
It's just a random idea that hit me from out of nowhere this morning. I wasn't even thinking about Doctor Who.
Anywhere, there it is.
