Monk for a month?

I was reading about a course that encourages disconnecting from not just technology but society in general. No tech, no speaking, no meat, no alcohol, no touching, no eye contact and so on. Sounds more extreme than no nut November

Those who’ve done it (the Monk class) say it changed them. Good for them . But I don’t think it’s for me.

Can you live like a monk for a month? Or do you wanna party like it’s 99? 🤘🏼

Update
Here’s the link to what I was reading. It’s a 30day course at U of Penn

I spent two weeks in a Catholic monastery about a decade ago. It wasn't quite as extreme as that.

We did speak to each other but frivolous talk was frowned upon outside of certain times. We did eat meat except on Fridays, and we did drink wine in moderation.

The course you described sounds far more strict than the place I was at. It would probably be a positive experience though.
