The eclipse
Went outside for a bit and watched the eclipse for a while. Spectacular, of course, and a perfect day here for viewing. It didn't get as dark as 2017, of course, as we're not in the path of totality this time, but still pretty wild.
I don't know if it was real or just an artifact of my aging eyesight, but I thought at one point I could see the sun's corona and a glowing arch on the north of the moon as the sunlight lit up that part of the moon's globe.
I haven't been able to find the next time we're going to have an eclipse in this area — I looked on charts well into the next century and couldn't find anything.
So, that was something that happened.
