@Mellowgirl London After Midnight is a famous lost film. It's believed that the last known print of it was destroyed in a fire in 1965. The joke was postulating that someone out there has been hanging onto a copy just waiting for it to go into the public domain (which it did this past Sunday) in order to somehow profit from it. Yes, pretty thin humor, but I do the best I can with what I have to work with.
