"The Coffee Cabinet"-Creatures Of Habit

I have reached that dreaded age where I am getting stubborn about silly things. My mom and I are reorganizing the cabinets and for 30+ years this one cabinet has always been the coffee cabinet. Filters, powered creamer, what have you. The coffee pot is no longer under it on the counter, it's in another place and yet, I can't bring myself to put anything in this cabinet BUT coffee, tea, etc. It's stupid, esp since the Keurig is on the opposite end of the kitchen..
I said on a post earlier that we are creatures of habit. We love familiar things. Familiar things feels safe and are scented with nostalgia. I remember being young and watching my parents play cards, and the waft of hot coffee as I fed my baby his morning jar of bananas.
I imagine even after my mom is gone that is where the coffee and tea will remain until family members change it when I am gone.
My random share for today.:)

I have been in the same place since 2009, and each thing usually has its set place. But I have accumulated so many plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, etc. over time. Occasionally, manage to have then all clean at the same time, and when this happens, I run out of cupboard space, and so I have to move food higher, or to the pantry (in a little closet). I have more room for dirty stuff, which is usually rinsed and put on the counter waiting for the dishwasher to free up.

I had to stop buying plates, etc., because of this problem.

Yes, it is a problem. I also have too much clothes, bedding, towels, and shoes. I had to stop buying that stuff, too. At least that stuff degrades and I toss a bit over time. Yet still, some closets I cannot enter right now. I need a bigger place.

First World problems.

I live in an apartment. If I had a yard I wonder what I would clutter it up with?

A shed with a hot tub in it?

@JoyfulSilence I wish it had a hot tub! It just has a lot of the junk in it from my move 4 years ago 😊

I take hot baths but my tub is too small.

One problem with having a yard is the need to get dressed to enjoy it (unless it is isolated or surrounded by a thick hedge!). Also, I hate dirt and bugs! And extreme temperatures.

I had some balcony furniture but I seldom used it. I left it for years and it rusted, and got coated in dust, dirt, grime, mold, algae, and bird droppings. I finally tossed it.
