Futon for the office?

I have an enormous office at work. There used to be two desks in here because I had a student assistant for quite a while. That stopped several years ago when I had trouble coming up with tasks for a student assistant to do anymore, so for several years, I've just had a second desk in the office (really more of an oddly shaped table).

At the beginning of the year, we got a new employee who had a different sort of desk in his office that he didn't like, so I gave him my extras desk. That really opened up — or emptied out — the office. Now I have so much room in here, and I'm tucked away in the corner with all the space I need.

So, I've been considering getting a futon for the office. It would fill in the space on the opposite wall, under the spiffy painting a friend did for me. It would give people a place to sit on the rare occasions I have a) more than one other person in my office and b) when I have anyone in my office who doesn't want to sit in my plastic guest chair. Also, at lunch time, I can close the door, fold out the futon and take a power nap.

Thoughts?

I think it’s a brilliant idea! It would be comfy and would absorb some of the echoing from the empty office. Wifey had one in her office and would sit there to work…always with feet up and shoes off’

If you work for Tesla you'll be required to have a futon in your office going forward. Hell, you might need to divorce your spouse too, since you won't be sleeping at home.
