Futon for the office?
I have an enormous office at work. There used to be two desks in here because I had a student assistant for quite a while. That stopped several years ago when I had trouble coming up with tasks for a student assistant to do anymore, so for several years, I've just had a second desk in the office (really more of an oddly shaped table).
At the beginning of the year, we got a new employee who had a different sort of desk in his office that he didn't like, so I gave him my extras desk. That really opened up — or emptied out — the office. Now I have so much room in here, and I'm tucked away in the corner with all the space I need.
So, I've been considering getting a futon for the office. It would fill in the space on the opposite wall, under the spiffy painting a friend did for me. It would give people a place to sit on the rare occasions I have a) more than one other person in my office and b) when I have anyone in my office who doesn't want to sit in my plastic guest chair. Also, at lunch time, I can close the door, fold out the futon and take a power nap.
