Any reason behind your ego?

defiance i think. growing up i got a lot of flack. Idk guess i was an easy target or whatever. But I also got flack from every authority figure in my life too. They would say, im stupid, or i need to be on medication, or im destined to be a failure, or whatever the list goes on and on. My options were to either think theyre right or to think that THEYRE the stupid ones and im the smart one.
went with the latter. Think it worked out well for me bc had I gone the other way I would have likely just been bad at school and had low self esteem lol

Well, it is more like a defense mechanism, that's blind

anyone who can think and act for themselves has an ego; those who claim not to are sheeple/easily manipulated
