Feel free to message me if you need a sympathetic correspondent. I have an OK life now, and I am retired, though if you read my Featured story, you'll see that I have had some very tough times myself and know what trouble is about. I am an aging hippie and a retired school teacher of juvenile delinquents and mentally ill criminals (at the state mental hospital), have travelled a bit, like to read, write and garden, also have other interests as well. Lately, I've taken an interest in pro boxing.

Back in the 60s, I lived in SF in the Haight-Ashbury, knew a lot of interesting people. Later, I lived in Portland, Oregon, the world's nicest prettiest city, the City of Roses. Now I live in the desert near Los Angeles. I have no family.

@greenmountaingal I'm actually dealing with mental illness. I think it's the main factor behind everything. Do you think you could help me?

@AnonJohn I'm not a psychologist or doctor. In fact, I'm seeing a shrink myself and taking meds. My own delusional mental illness, which lasted about 4 years, was caused by an out of control (bad medical treatment) bladder infection which went to my kidneys and then to my brain. Now I have a great doctor who gave me the right medications and cleared up the original underlying infection, so the mental illness has gone.

i hope you find a way through your personal crisis. Life is tough and many people have had the temptation at one time or another to give up. However, something deep down inside of you probably wants to fight on and recover. Try and take on one or two problems at any one time, so it seems more manageable and less overwhelming.

Don't give up. Learn as much as you're able to understand about the world. The reality of it all unbiased. After all that is the only thing that makes sense as an obligation
