I Have Random Thoughts Of Randomness
So, actor Rene Auberjonois died yesterday. You may know him as Odo on Deep Space Nine, or as the voice of the singing chef in The Little Mermaid, or as the chief of staff on Benson. Even if you don't know the name, if you watched television at all in the '70s or '80s, you'd recognize the face as one of those guys who kept showing up on whatever shows you happened to watch.
So, RIP, Rene.
The weird thing, though. I saw a notice about Rene's death sometime yesterday. And last evening before bed, I was reading a book, The Questionable Behavior of Dahlia Moss, by Max Wirestone, part of a screamingly funny light mystery series about a young woman who happens to be a gaming geek who stumbles into a kinda-sorta career as a private detective. (It's marketed as "Veronica Mars meets World of Warcraft," which is pretty accurate.)
Anyway, this Dahlia Moss book came out almost two years ago, and I'm just getting around to reading it. And as it happens, I read a section in which the characters in the book have a somewhat drunken conversation about... Rene Aberjonois.
Just one of those interesting random coincidences that makes you go "huh."
