I Have Random Thoughts

The word "respect" can have several meanings. It can reffer to respecting someone as a person, or respecting someone as an authority.
And sometimes, the people used to being considered as figures of authority will say things like - "If you don't respect me, I won't respect you", but what they really mean is - "If you don't treat me like authority, I won't treat you like a person". And they think this is okay, but it is not...

Respect means something different to each person. The golden rule, treat others how you want to be treated, doesn't work, as it offends others, you have to treat them how they want to be treated.
