During the day we're occupied by things, but by the time we get into bed we're laying there still and in the darkness, which means all we've got is our thoughts and they love to pester until you get so exhausted you finally drop off to sleep. But that could take hours, so in the meantime your thoughts are swirling on an endless loop and I think more often than not they can be quite negative.

It sounds like a familiar scene for me too. Whenever it happens, I'll try to be mindful and to live in the now where there is no worries or fear.
