I Have Something to Say

I don't understand the connection: "Jesus died for your sins." How does one affect the other...That's like saying: "I hit myself over the head with a toilet seat for your mortgage."?

The idea being that he could have saved himself, but chose not to. He died so that he could forgive human sin.
Something to that effect.

@DDonde That suggests he couldn't forgive human sin without dying. If he is almighty, that makes no sense.
