As much as I loved this song as a teen, I never knew the backstory…

I had zero idea of that back story. It's interesting, I am fascinated with the idea of being positive in the face of devastation, as if it's a reaction or protest to the adversity.

Why do some do that? Nothing to lose? Too predictable to be a downer?

I've always defined faith as "to hope when there's no real reason to hope".

Boy, do we all need that sometimes.

I didn't know the backstory either, of this upbeat...happy sort of song. 😞


I like it even more now because of the reason behind why he wrote it, even though I'll always remember that reason now when I hear it.

Yeah, I didn't know about the back story....but I've always loved the song and even saw King Harvest in concert many years ago (nobody in the band mentioned why it had been written).

I have known that song since the 70s. This is the first time I have heard of his positive visualization used!

A beautiful way to reduce the emotional spike, but still engage. Interesting...I never knew the story either.
