Are blogs still a big thing? I follow a couple written by people I know, but I don't see many people writing them anymore.

Is it all about podcasts now?

It does seem they've fallen to the wayside. I remember when blogs were the new sensation. Good for sharing one's thoughts, and graphic media.

Then youtube developed its creator platforms. Later, Spotify, Apple, Patreon, and others.

Beyond the charm of master storytelling:

Podcasts mimic close personal conversations, setting up a kind of intimacy with the speaker. When the host shares raw, unguarded emotion, we are apt to likewise become open and vulnerable. Especially if they are sharing 1st person accounts; which encourage genuine empathy; and identity with experiences from our own lives.

With appropriate cadence, timber, and tone, a good podcaster can build a feeling of comfort and trust among their subscribers.

Qualities absent from traditional broadcasts that were required to remain neutral, and distant.

Podcasts fill a niche in a fast paced society, looking for immersive, personalized experiences.
The era of the independent, self-hosted blog is slowly fading. Between the server maintenance headaches and the endless fragmentation of modern platforms, people are just defaulting to plug-and-play sites like Medium. It’s almost overwhelming how many ways there are to broadcast your thoughts now. Blogging hasn’t died, it has taken new forms.

Everyone thinks they can become a star with their own pod casts.

I think it’s more podcasts, vlogs and TikTok/short vids these days

But too many people were getting too riled up by my words….it got exhausting feeling all that from them
