What do you do when you get suddenly scared?

It takes a lot to jump scare me. Even if I don't expect it, I don't tend to react for some reason. I usually just chuckle like "hehe.. not bad"

No lie though sometimes I get a lil scared if I'm alone in a common area in the middle of the night. Some places more than others. My last apartment creeped me out sometimes. & My kid's mom's place when I first met her scared me damn near daily. Idk why. That place didn't feel right when I was alone. She told me once that the spirits there didn't like me & they liked it when we fought. So that didn't help 😅

I don't know what I do. I don't get scared often and can't remember when I last got scared. I guess if I'm startled I will jump back. If I can do something to protect myself, I will.

Real overwhelming scared?
I kneel and pray.
Then I get up and fight.

Fun scared? Curiosity wins sometimes or I sing to be brave. :)

I think I’m all brave and stoic but I’ve been known to wake up from a nightmare screaming like a trembling child.

I just completely freeze up.

I do that same. I think it`s a nervous laugh, but a laugh all the same.

I freeze, then either run or laugh.

My bro once tried to scare me in the dark as a teen.
He got smacked on the head with the flashlight.
