Removing junk food from SNAP isn’t cruel, it’s remaining true to the program’s original purpose. Thoughts?

It's not your money to spend.
@Alyosha oh but it’s every tax payer’s money! Yes!

@Unefilletrescurieuse Then vote for the representatives who will punish the poor. It's the government's money, and it's theirs to appropriate as they see fit.
@Alyosha I am not sure you understand - the government has NO MONEY - it comes from people and companies that pay tax

Primary sources of government revenue

Income tax: Collected from individuals and businesses.

Company tax: Levied on the profits of corporations.

Other taxes: This includes payroll tax, land tax, customs and excise duties, and taxes on motor vehicles and gambling.

@OriginalNedKelly I'm not sure you understand. Every government levies taxes. The "it's the taxpayer's money!" is political rhetoric (sometimes well-intended) in liberal democracies that you bought hook, line, and sinker. Next time, make sure you include notes on your taxes on how the government spends the money they're taking.
@Alyosha Okay, why is the government in debt to 32 trillion dollars, not spent wisely
