how do you react when you get negative comments from people

what's the best way to react?
Top | New | Old
My reaction is negative comments should be taken with context. I ask myself
'is that person saying this to try and push my buttons?'
'is that person projecting their own insecurity onto me?'
'is this negative comment warranted?'
'is this helpful to the conversation?'

Any of these questions can help put the comment in perspective.

Don't rise to the bait. Make light and agree with what they said and move onto the next post. When the person you love and trust most tears you down there isn't anything anyone here could say that could hurt me.

I will tell you honestly, those are my very favorite comments. I love when people unleash their unvarnished emotions.

This is the beauty of it. You can call me whatever you want, you can't touch me!

Negative is subjective. I detest toxic positivity.

Unless it's blatantly obvious, then I may ignore or speak up, depending.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I have no problem with that unless they're just rude about it. Then I just ignore them because it's not worth my time.

I usually say nothing or ask why they said it.

See if it's valid or not and learn from it
