What do you think society puts too much value the most on, that may not be the most important in the grand scheme of things?

Not sure i worded that quite right

Me, me, me and I, I, I!
Yes, one must take care of one's self before they can help others but for many they can't get past themselves. Many search for happiness but never find it because they never really embrace "service, not self".
@SlaveEt that's true. For many It's a me world and what are you giving me?

The wording is fine.

Answer: Other people's business, we need to just leave each other alone. We need to put more value, and energy in solving our homeless problem.

@calicuz with the exception of if it will affect us in some way
calicuz · 56-60, M
@cherokeepatti

As long as it doesn't infringe on our individual rights and liberty, everything is fine.
@calicuz i agree

We put too much energy into keeping track of the lives of Hollywood celebrities. In general, we are too obsessed with the "rich and famous.

Why should I care about the terms of the latest celebrity divorce, for example? A divorce within my circle of friends is of much greater concern to me.

Hoarding money is seen as a great thing, I think the acquisition of large fortunes is actually completely worthless unless you do something good with it.
Always trying to Keep up with the Joneses
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@Bexsy Often I look at what the Joneses have and I think, "They can keep it!" 😄
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@DrWatson I think I don’t have room for that…😆…I’d have to get a bigger house.
Performance. The act of socializing and looking a certain way. How people dress, where they work. All the judging and gossiping.
@MarbleMarvel so much so. They way i dress has always been an issue with people. I dress for me. I like how i am comfortable. Not how others like looking at me. Deal with it. Or not. Not trying to please anyone anymore
@Bexsy I am with you beautiful. I know I look like a freakin weirdo but it makes me happy. That should be attractive.
@MarbleMarvel i agree, if i feel good in my t-shirts and flannel and my hat. Feeling good should be attractive
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Looks over character. Seems so many are superficial in wanting others to be their idea of perfection as far as looks go.
Too much value on the opinions of celebrities and social media influencers.

Not enough on the importance of achievement in academic education. Too many parents do not take enough responsibility for the children's success in school.
Jexie · 26-30, F
Achievement. Life is all about making mistakes and just existing.
@Jexie very true, each of my mistakes has been a lesson I had to learn myself

Gender thing
" success" not everyone views success the same way
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
It's a toss-up between money and looks.
DragonFruit · 61-69, M
Money as a measure of "success".
