What happened to men being masculine?

Why do people consider masculinity a bad thing?
It's a needed thing I believe.

Because when men started becoming more masculine, people were like, "Oh no, that's too much! That's toxic masculinity! Men need to tone it down!"

So, now we have soy boys.

I think each man defines his masculinity to himself and others by how he manages it. I believe common sense comes into this management big time. I've always been masculine, I'm not ashamed of it. It's part of being a man. I don't care to have it oozing out of my pores... like maybe other men. There's an extreme for everything. It's up to each individual to keep things in check. I don't care if I'm labeled by anyone for anything. I doubt that I would be labeled as having to much masculinity though. Toxic behavior of all kinds is controllable providing they're not mentally challenged in some bad way. IMHO.
I'm never be a weak man or what someone called a Soy boy.

I'd understand if many men feel guilted for being a man these days. Maybe they want to distance themselves from those women abusers they hear about.

That's probably only a small piece of it, I don't know

@caPnAhab

Not only hear about. But mentally, emotionally and physically get away from permanently.

I've never felt guilted for being a man. IMHO... that's ridiculous.

@Elisbch yep. That's too bad, when that happens

I love being a man and embrace the occasional burdens of masculinity. I think most women prefer a stronger man with more dominant characteristics as well - physical, emotional and financial security…

I don't consider masculinity a bad thing ... it's what I've been my entire life. I don't know anything else. Certainly not interested in changing it.

Nice looking couple. They for real 😋

I ❤ masculinity. Just don't hold on to it at the expense of everything else 😉

Actually I am very masculine that's why I'm labeled as toxic all the time and guys like Raymundo here in the picture always get the woman go figure but honestly you know what let remundo keep that shit I would rather be me and not sell out and be by myself then ever turn into Raymundo from Telemundo

Because being masculine is being labelled as being a perpetrator.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Probably because "masculinity" is so often used as an excuse for males to be violent, overbearing, controlling, and abusive?
WowwGirl · 36-40, F
@ChipmunkErnie makes sense
