I hate birthdays its just a year closer to dying for me I am 38 years old so every year gets worse and worse. Birthdays were never magical for me but I started to hate them when I got into my late 20s.

When it comes to my birthday, I keep everything low-key. My tendency to not make a big deal out of my birthday may be caused by the fact that I lost a very important person to me on one of my birthdays.

I don't really care about them, although it weirds me out that people congratulate me for staying alive another year. If they find that a noteworthy accomplishment, their expectations of me must be pretty low.
