How do they put the air in the bubble wrap?

How does the air get in the bubbles, do they inject it in or what?. But if they inject the air in won’t that leave a hole in it and cause the air to escape?

My mum just got some packages so there’s a lot of bubble wrap in the house so she said I can pop it but I’m feeling a little curious.

I would think the air is already in there like air is in everything. And the machine just glues or melts the pieces of plastic together.

@Jonjdw I read this and thought about what you said and it makes sense. Kind of like how you close a ziploc bag but there’s still air in it, but then in the case of bubble wrap they melt the plastic in little bubble shapes. I think anyway.

@Jonjdw unless the bubbles were solid plastic, which they are not, it would never work.

@PersimmonBaby yes I didn’t look it up or anything but I believe it’s probably made similar to that way.
