What age did you realize your narcissistic parent/s were hypocrites, and when did you start rebelling because of that?

@SinlessOnslaught I did but I suffered and learned from it. I'm asking because my heart breaks for a child going through it and... I'm no longer going to be in her life and I'm sad for what she's going to deal with. I know what I went through, I'm curious about others.

@S33K3R Can I ask why you won't be in her life anymore?

@SinlessOnslaught her mother is very deep into the narcissism and she attacked me over a false belief. She attacked my relationship actually, me and my BF had broken, up we were deciding to get back together to work it out at that time. I guess she decided that's not ok? Her husband disclosed some of what I'd said to this friend along with additional lies. My BF knew how I felt, much of what she decided was false taken out of context.

Their actions were immature and my response was hey I'm disappointed, I'll adjust my boundaries so you'll never have to deal with the problems in my relationship. I'd heard her relationship drama which was ten fold heavier than anything I've put in her plate.

Anyways she's got a huge ego, I was cut out of their lives by her and her husband over that. I've never uttered anything bad towards them, just was trying to understand their thought process on all of that. She's incapable of repairing relationships when they go south, shortly before that she had a falling out with a friend over how her friend didn't want a certain derogatory nickname being mentioned at her wedding.

I don't think she'll ever gain much self awareness, she drinks and numbs various ways to deal with her issues. She's so far just an alcoholic.

@S33K3R I'm sorry her daughter won't have you in her life anymore and I'm sorry for all the trouble you went through.

I wasn't right for them anyways. I want healthy friends interested in sustainability, they want to drink and talk about drama. That was their routine every hangout session. It was boring.

@SinlessOnslaught I only work to be better today than I was yesterday. I've made lots of mistakes.

There are so many great people. You're great too, you see growth and it attracts you. That was my path too.

@SinlessOnslaught I feel you have a deeper self awareness than your peers. Mainly it's in the way you communicate and you seem to be attracted towards growth oriented conversation. Over the years your growth will compound and you'll begin to see the mountains you've climbed as I have seen for myself 💗
