To people who have android phones..

Have you noticed a green dot or a green camera appear on the upper left-hand side of your screen? How do we get rif of them?
I just looked it up.
It appears on screen when an app is using your microphone or camera.

Id go through your apps and disable camera and micophone options where you can....and also check to see if ypur Bluetooth is on.
Its not beyond someone's cabaility to access your phone via it.

Seems fucking sus to me.
@GunFinger itd creep me out too.
You never know these days.

Ive had my phone hacked into before by a stalky person , and it was awful. They screwed around with my settings, kept turning stuff off on me etc. Got into my messages, photos and shit .

It made me get a whole new phone, new number and new provider.

@OogieBoogie You have to opt out of a lot of things on most Android phones ,including Samsung,if you want privacy try GrapheneOS mostly on Pixel phones,though it may be a bit pricey rn
@OogieBoogie I have no idea. I have an OLD landline that I have to repeatedly dial to reach a comatose operator on the other end. Calls herself "Ernestine"

No, unless you mean the green dot that's always been there to signal to others that you are on (which I turned off a long long time ago)...

I'll go see if I can figure it out, if that's what you mean..

@GunFinger cover the camera with black electric tape!

@GunFinger idk if you read this already but here's some actual information about what you seem to be describing

@deadgerbil thank you.
Elessar · 26-30, M
You don't, it's a privacy feature. Let's you know if some app is accessing your camera without you knowing
GunFinger · F
@Elessar tried to change the settings a bit. Hopefully no stuff ups happen.

@GunFinger Settings > Privacy > Privacy dashboard

Abd you can see an overview of all the apps that accessed the camera, mics, etc. recently
GunFinger · F
@Elessar saw it. Thank you so much.😊
Only on the profile pictures in the most wanted bar and only if the people in there are online.

@NerdyPotato this isn't about SW. It's about phones

@deadgerbil oh, then my best guess is an app is using the camera. If that happens when one isn't using the app, better uninstall that sh*t cause that's creepy as f*ck.

Only when my phone's up to no good

Jk it's a notification, see what app is struggling, force close all apps that are not essential

An easy way to get rid of anything that doesn’t work on an android is get an IPhone 😝
deadgerbil · 26-30
I've Samsung and I don't have that
GunFinger · F
@deadgerbil i tapped it and it said Shazam is using it.
deadgerbil · 26-30
@GunFinger to update this, I don't have that green dot outside of when an app is using my camera. It goes away shortly after I close said app.

I don't have Shazam but it looks like it has a camera feature that allows you to scan QR codes. Idk why it would be using your camera if you aren't using that feature though. Try closing the app entirely and see if that gets rid of it

If you can show that portion of your screen
That's just me spying on you 👀
GunFinger · F
@BeefySenpie I'm smiling at you😁 hey, please don't touch yourself!🙄🤣
Rolexeo · 26-30, M
Yes, it means it's recording audio
Virgo79 · 61-69, M

pdockal · 56-60, M
